Sorry, I will change it to symmetry. Or did we do that one too?

Symetry is good. :D

Whats with all the photo challenges about the rules of composition? I find this to be a bad trend that just keeps continueing. A few is ok but all of them? Granted i havent either been able to enter in one of these contests or wanted to enter in one for a while.

But i still love seeing what people come up with.

How about a more imaginative challenge? Like say a challenge an "out of this world" challenge? I think theres lots that could be done with that. Something that looks alien, something that looks like a solar system or star or galaxy, i.e. an object that looks like its out of this world, and then theres some word play fun that can come from it. I dunno, but i'd like to see something more specific and imaginative than "symetry", "line" or "negative space". These are things people should be using in their photographs if they want and there have been some good photographs in these topics but three in a row that are all based on the rules of composition? enough already

Yo!

Before this turns the challenge thread into a discussion i'd like to remind you guys of the

The Photo Challenge - Topic Suggestion \ Complaints \ OMGz about the poll (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78000)

there, all nice and pink. Please keep the challenge thread clean of debates. This is about photography. :D

So, any talk of the topics, winners and choices whould be made THERE (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78000)
Thx! :)

Just a quick reply (sorry Gab; ), I think the turn out is better with these kind of topics. Most of the people here are amateurs och hobbyists (myself included) and not capable of turning more advanced topics into good photographs. But I agree that more challenging topics would be more fun, its just that I believe most of the people here learn more from basic topics like this one. AND btw. just win the challenge and you can choose what topic you want. :)

Complete... at least you had a chance to practice your [challenge] photography a little more.

Go on, post the leading lines photo in a photo-thread... maybe the 'Photos I, complete2, took for challenges that never went ahead' thread.

I want to see it nevertheless.

I wanna get a photo for this one, but I find symmetry quite boring, so to get a photo that I think 'damn, that's hella-good-symmetry!' that I took would be somewhat rare to say the least. I can't even stand symmetry when putting socks on in the morning. I think have a natural aversion to symmetry, even if it's good.

So what's the deal? Does the poll open today? If so, there's no photos!

seeing that the thread was started on a Friday, and considering the last challenge esp. I would say it runs til Tue, 17th of April.

I must say that the extended duration of the last challenge lead to many more photos than usual and even I, being the digitally challenged guy that I am, could enter a shot.
I am all for slower challenges. But then, that's probably only me.

I am all confused be the challenges formal aspects, mostly, anyway ...:D

I guess if noone has taken any photos or planned to then I could make a new topic since this one was a failure.

I took this about a year ago. I'll start taking new photos when it warms up a little here.

6.1 surround sound discus tank. I always try to deviate from perfect symmetry when I need to design symmetrically.

Hella rare. That's why I used it. Note clouds, as well, to me the photo is ever so slightly lop sided - my eye goes towards the cloudy bit at least.

Now if only I'd never used it before...

I don't think I actually got any symmetry photos today, but I'll look through what I did get and see.
(Though I hope my illness shall fade, and I'll be more willing to look at it as 'damn that's good' more often. I'm a shape-bigot.)

yeah this challenge was hard to think of something to do. Especially in my area of town. AS you will learn in time though I like to incorporate people mostly in my photos. So I used my self....once again. It's seriously all I could think of in my hectic week.
