Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a comic artist who is interested in working on a comic that is going to start as a small on-line comic around 14 episodes. Think monsters, wizards, myths, ghostbusters, and marvel heroes in a small city that works like a classic western small town. Oh, God is involved also! :) I think (well, I hope) the strong opening should get attention on it's own... :bashful: The story also has a little moral that will slowly bur surely be revealed... :}
Based on the site hits/reads and feedback from readers, I will decide to pitch to distributors and try to secure distribution for a 15th episode (of course longer edition) graphic novel to finalize the series.
I plan to make no money for this at the beginning and plan to lose whatever money I pay the artist if it doesn't work out for the best.
For the pitch, please PM me on this forum. Please let me know your e-mail, location, and AIM/AOL screenname if you have one.
My offering:
$30 an episode
$25 for extra pics {web site layouts/backgrounds/promo art}
$30 per page - if we get to the graphic novel
I'll try to describe what I'm seeing in my head the best I can. I will also show pictures of other art works as examples of what I am looking for.
Although the illustrator is of course getting credit for the art, I want to be able to own 60% of the images made and decide how it is distributed and/or licensed. For example: a t-shirt, a toy, so on and so forth.
Also, even though this might not happen, the artist will get 40% of any money I might make through this product/comic/story/characters/etc.
And when we enter the contract to start the project, you'll have to enter it until the 15th episode and a minimum of 20 extra pics. Payment plans can be discussed later, but I'm thinking quarterly throughout the process.
Once the graphic novel is made, I have no plans on making another comic with this specific story. What I do plan is to either make a 3D or regular feature film to give it it's final breath.
I know my offering is low, and I know it seems like a long process... However, I also know I can't go from nothing to a graphic novel.
Please know that I don't want to bash stuff into the artist and make him/her do only what I tell him/her to do as if there opinion doesn't matter, I want to hear their opinions and ideas as well.
So if everything you read above is cool, please PM me and include your location, e-mail, and AIM/AOL screenname if you have one.
Hope to get some replys. Thanks for your time...
