Sci-Fi Comic Concept Art - Help

New to the forums, looking for some help on this i'm working on... City Concept \ Generator Area (http://www.geocities.com/duskman9991/ComicConcArt_006.jpg)

Very rough yet, but i'm having the hardest time getting metal to look right. I try and put a lot of detail into it, but it ends up looking like crap. I think its better to go in a simpler way? I'd like to hear some opinions on this.

on the same subject, i think most users prefer to not have to click links or drag and drop...it might help your feedback some

as for your work, i like the scene and the perspective; the colors dont work for me so much but before i do more crits i'd like to see it farther along and see where you're going with this

Composition change was a good choice imo.

If you're having trouble with metal, take a look at some ref photos (which I'm hoping you did).

It's difficult to get metal to look right, but if you know what type of metal you're trying to achieve - reference can do wonders.

i like the compo-update much more, it just looks better and takes your view off that city that wasn't looking that great in that distance. but the first one wasn't bad either.
