Generic spaceport (Updated)

First post ever for me so..............tear it apart. About 5-6 hours, all photoshop. Just kinda painted whatever came to mind. :bashful:

I think it's great. My only critique is on your composition. The empty space leading to the top right corner is, well... empty. The parts of the piece that have content aren't heavy enough to offset the blank space.

However, if you were going for an exaggerated emptiness (which would emphasize the distance from which the viewer is from the spaceport tower) then you may want to exaggerate it more, make it clear that the emptiness is a part of the picture and not just a poor choice in composition. Is the picture about just the tower? Or the fact that it's so huge that you have be miles away from it to see it in it's entirety?

Either that or exaggerate your perspective so that the buildings in the foreground are much larger, it would give your picture a fisheye feel, distortion that might lead to vertigo.

the painting is ok.. its a good place to start. but yeah this has major compositional issues.

this looks like a bad photograph, like you accidentally too the shot too high and cut out most of the picture below. all the cutyscape at the bottom and to the right is pretty pointless. if your intention was to show the tower, and maybe some buildings below it for scale, you should have oriented this image VERTICALLY to showcase the tower.. and not have 85% of the empty sky instead.

id say you change that first and foremost.. leaving space below and above the tower to give it a border.. and help bring focus to it. some buildings at the bottom, just a bit of sky above it. tower in the center or so.

I think it looks beautifull. Really nice atosphere and the big skies depressing the small suburbia have a strong impact on me.

I think it looks pretty fun, could've been a concept sketch for a disney or pixar movie. Perhaps some more space ship to the upper middle and right area. Good job.
