- Odin Sphere - regale in 2d lust all sprite-animation lovers

- i'm sure many of you gamers have seen this, but we know now that it's actually making its way translated and over-seas (May 29th ?)

--- some time ago (late 90's ?) there was a game released for Saturn called "Princess Crown" --- though it has never made its way out of Japan, it did get a port to japanese PSP last year and is mostly recognized for it's great 2d presentation. the 2d RPG/Beat'm'up mix is getting a spiritual successor (from the same team) called "Odin Sphere" that just animates amazingly - and stands as a reminder of where 2d games could be today if the genre wasn't dropped so violently outside of handhelds.

But even though i'm a JRPG fan,i have many other games that i need to buy/play before i even touch this one..:blah:

God, those graphics are amazing. I'm with you, Sammy. It's a damn shame there aren't more sprite based games anymore outside of handhelds. There was a Metal Slug game for the PS2 or something that had amazing sprites and animation, but I don't know of much else.

Pardon my language, but I think I creamed my pants watching that new trailer! There are days when I'm worried about 2D being dead, but then I hear about things like this.
