Hi everybody. I am a long time trawler and I have been building my nerve to start posting some of my images and try to take a more active role in the board. Reading this stuff is great, but I need to participate more.

The left forward leg on the spider is too stiff and the whole composition seems a bit weaker then it would be if I have decided on a different pose. I am reasonably happy with the lighting and it would be fun to return to this one and clean up some of the lines and do a background. Maybe fix that left leg and add some filigree as well.

The upper left skeleton is a bit tilted and I should go in and tilt him over to the left a bit. Plus the shading isn't as strong as it should be here. Just kind of passé.
The blood mongrel is a bit off in his stance and needs some type of floor and shading underneath of himself to give him root. Also the coloration on him is a bit rough, which isn't so bad if it was executed a little more aggressively.
I like the Blood Rite at the bottom and am generally happy with it.

I like both of the ideas. Only a couple crits. The spider design, since it's Gnomish, could be a little less sleek and bit more clunky with various gears and exhaust pipes hanging off it. If you look at Gnome tech in the game its very chunky and lacks that smooth futuristic feel. The blood mongrel/portal skeletons are a cool concept but the animation required for the summoning of the blood mongrel is a bit much. If you had more than one portal skeleton summoning these guys with the complex liquid blood portal animations it would seriously lag up gameplay. Might have to be simplified down to a more normal portal. You could substitute the liquid makeup of the portal for a huge splash of blood as the creature jumps from it.

I meant to mention that these were pieces created for the World of Warcraft concept art contest around August.

Nexus; thanks for the critique. I see where you are coming from on the first one. My first idea for the contest was a giant gear driven windmill that marched all over the peaks around Gnomeregan and it had all gears and stuff. I guess I wanted to take Pieter away from that, but it would have been stronger if it still had some type of nod to Gnomish technology driving this sleek contraption.
Very good point about the summoning action for the blood mongrel. I never thought of it that way.

I like them both very nice work
