hey all. this is my 2nd in the set after my nightcrawler painting which was a SP. this one im doing of the beast as one of my friends from around town. Im also doing the old school beast as i think he has a little more personality (that and i didnt feel like doing an obnoxious amount of hair). um. Ive blocked in shapes and tried to get some lighting i wanted on it. Right now the colors are very muted and some just arent there. I know i need to work on the colors. and even the folds in the shirt maybe. i dont know. any crits are welcome as id like to bring this piece out some more.

Hey Scratched Glass.....I loved your first piece, and I love this one....especially the way you light your subjects.....by the way....what do you use to light your subjects?.....is it just one light bult in a dark room?....that's what it looks like to me.

thanks sepulveda! Hopefully the rest will turn out half decent. Well ive only been shooting reference for the face and i have been throwing a spotlight on their head in a pretty dark environment. When im painting all im pretty much doing is blocking in the entire silloutte, once i figure out what kind of pose i want and im basically just hiting where i think light would hit the strongest. im exageratting shadow areas a good amount but i think it works. Well see where it goes. thanks again for the input.

These are sweet.
As a comics dork I'm super pleased with the painterly bodies you're creating of older comics looks, plus what great fun with your friends.
I love them, keep them up, especially with the great poses. Pretty dern solid anatomy if you ask me.
Any chance I could get you to do one of my as Colossus?
heh heh.
