You're an ass...

You used the stamp tool (horribly by the way) on a stolen piece of artwork from http://mkor.cgsociety.org/gallery/219323/ (Max Kor).

Seriously... do you think you can post this crap on a forum with this rep and get away with it?

Idiot...

You could give him lensflare eyes. Then it would have a symbolic representation of eyes but, crucially , would still have no eyes.

I really think it could enhance the emotional impact of the piece.

i disagree, the current emotional impact was meant to be a lone solider with no face.
he would be destined to a life of being rejected and ignored

if i added a lens flare, the emotion goes from "lone solider trying to survive" to "LOL LOOK ITS A DEMON WITH LENS FLARES LOL LOL LOL"

all serious impact is lost

i was trying to be serious with this one.

apart from the diffuse glow (which i sometimes use ever so slightly) i don't use filters,
however, the tool i used (a clone tool) can be used to achieve marvellous imagery for photo manipulation

i would not like to be put into the category of "photoshop filter user"

either MB pulling a prank, someone from DA trying to 'prove' we're elitist snobs, or a disgruntled CAer who in here to 'shoot up the place' internetz style. Or a random mental patient who has rats sewn to his arms and uses the power of funnels to dispel his demons. That would be rad.

i spend so much time creating what i think is my best work of art and all you morons come on and ruin it

here's some info on the image; i made the whole thing myself, all mine.
some of you think that's not the case, fine. that's your opinion and its wrong

just because you don't believe that i am capable of such an artwork you ruin it.
you destroy everything that you don't agree with.

i think that the lone solider without a face stirred way too much emotion in you all, because you lot have been touched so well by this piece that you've had to make fun of it a and destroy it to satisfy you hunger for power over things that you cannot explain.

guys, you need to take my artwork seriously, i am very upset you ruined it

please put my art back into the finished section and put the original title back

the original title was "no face"

failing that request, i request everyone who posted ruined versions of my artwork to remove them. i hate eyesores

you are so aggressive.
i stole someone's artwork?
i disagree, he still has it does he not? please contact this other guy and ask him if for some reason he no longer has possession of his art?

and of course the above situation only applies if it was his artwork anyway.

my art might resemble his art to the untrained eye; but its not the same, analyse any portion of the artwork and you'll find that i made this one myself, i used Maya and photoshop.

the reason i left out the eyes and mouth and nose and other facial structures was because i am not good enough with Maya to make those things realistically yet, but as soon as i am skilled enough i will make a photorealistic head with eyes included

it might take a few years though. please wait

this is people having fun

lets see,
- i finally get enough encouragement from my friends to post one of my best artworks
- its the best i have done so far, i spent a lot of time on it
- then people say that i stole it
- they then vandalise my post by moving it and renaming it
- you all then take my artwork and change it (making it a lot worse by the way)
- and then come back and tell me that this is not that insulting and its just "fun"

if to you "fun" is ruining someone's life , ruining their dreams then you must be a very cruel person

the reason i left out the eyes and mouth and nose and other facial structures was because i am not good enough with Maya to make those things realistically yet, but as soon as i am skilled enough i will make a photorealistic head with eyes includedman, i thought the faceless part was a deep and moving insight into the alienation felt by all chainmail-wearing Vietnam Vets upon their return to a society that rejects humans with foreskin from forehead to chin! man, am i so disappointed that it's really just technical incompetency! you lied to us, man, and that, that, that <sob> really hurts a truly serious and sensitive artist like me.

your missing the main thing,
i have not got the skill to model the face that well yet, so before i started on this i had to have a clear goal and something achievable

so:

i can write custom shaders
i can model a head and render it (and the extra stuff)really well
but my weakness is the eyes and mouth

so i decided to create this no face lone solider guy, the image is not a result of technical incompetency but rather a result of making a really good picture with my current skill level. i knew my limitations and created this artwork knowing that.

the funny thing that got edited out of the first post was that he was trying to sell it.

my error, i was actually trying to sell the shaders i used for this. you know, those little compilations of code that make the "no face" character look so good.

i did this 3D model years ago to celebrate a young woman's victory over a horrible disability, lackoffollicleitis (aka "Chihuahua syndrome"). she struggled with the stigma of her genetic anomaly and eventually met and married her prince, and in the end became queen of the universe, but always longed for real hair of her very own.

with your amazing ability to create micro-detail via displacment maps, and your killer pshop skillz, you could give this gal hair in no time. lessee... 10 hours to do "Faceless," with hair and chainmail and armor and background, hair alone is only 1/4 of that, so, that makes, what 2.5 hours? and the tough stuff's already taken care of! whatta deal!

As Decko said it was an Homage to a "faceless Vietnam Vet in chainmail".

Vietnam- "We were Soldiers" starring Mel Gibson

Faceless- "Man Without a Face" starring Mel Gibson

Chainmail- "BraveHeart" starring Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson FTW

aww. your getting tired and bored?
if i spent the majority of my time ruining others artwork like you lot have i'd get a bit tired and bored as well

here's a hint at what you could do to be a successful artist:
- be original
- post constructive criticism on other peoples posts instead of being a silly little vandal

you know what, i'm getting bored as well, bored of all these stupid meaningless comments on my work

how about some actual constructive criticism for a change, instead of turning my artwork into a joke

Constructive critique: don't call people morons... Because it colors your words in certain way and makes them biased. Be neutral in your replies...discuss the critiques, disagree with them, but don't scold a person who said it, neither his or your personality is a topic of conversation.
This of course only in case if you want a constructive result from your discussion... if your enjoy the process... that's another thing...

Dont you wanna get better, or are you looking for an excuse to accepting your bare minimum? The Maya gobltygook was a dead giveaway.Yes, indeed. Everyone knows that Maya's gobltygook function allows for exquisitely normal-mapped eyes and mouths and even noses at the click of a button, so there's really no reason for Decky to claim an inability to model them.
