wow man, nice stuff. you have great linework in these. all i can think of is to control your values more (focusing on the forest girl pic) because the figure gets lost in the backround.. .there isnt a developed foreground/backround relationship. keep it up

WOW! thanks for such a warm embrace you ca-peeps!
it's feels really good to not be the only one who likes my stuff. (everyone around me has gone numb and sceptical :D )
metalwinds> thanks for the crit man, i will definately be more cautious of that in future work. this particular piece is over a year old now.
Ant4d> glad you like it, i remember at the time it broke me out of a couple of shells, really learning to revisit a piece till it was good. great practise!
rickxu> i'm glad you like the portraits man! i love doing them myself, it's really rewarding to have them work out. and it helps your art so well. The face has all of the difficulties in it that you face as an artist, that's why i practise them a lot.
redmond> is that the kevin bacon one you mean? thank you man. i did it off the cover of stir of echoes. i like the lighting in that one myself, its rare to find such a nice picture
behemot5> :chug:
clocktowerart> thank you man, you won't believe what a great compliment that is. really
embee> it's great to hear you like the newer stuff, it implies that i have made progress. which is always good!
i have some other stuff i haven't posted yet, i'll do that tomorrow!

Awesome Leroy, I mean that sincerly!
The first one incredible and so ambitious. It is graphite correct? I mean, its kind of hard to tell because it has sort of a wierd pixelation to it.
Please show more.

These are great! I agree, awesome line work. I particularly fancy the beat one and the one of the guy, self portrait?
How long have you studied? I'm curious. ^^

Grooveholmes> thank you man. but no, it's not graphite. it was done on a A4 size sheet of printerpaper with a .5mm HB mechanical pencil. right now i'm moving away from cheap paper because it's just a waste to make something worthwhile on shitty material. and also i'm moving towards using normal pencils more because I can work faster with those. trying new styles as well.
Iiori> although i don't exactly know what you are refering to with the "beat one" i appreciate the compliment. and the other is no selfportrait, i drew it off a picture of dr. dre.
as for howlong i've studied, i take it you mean in school. well, apart from two months of painting and life drawing classes at the art academy, i didn't really take any class. read a handfull of books here and there, but find that i learn most from just doing it. Read a little, draw, read a little, draw some more.
here's some stuff that i didn't post in the first place because it isn't really that good, but hey, it's something right?

i have some more, but i'll post those later. untill i have enough new sketches i'll spread these babies out over time :D .
btw. if anyone wants to see higher res or detail, just let me know, i'll be happy to post.

All of your stuff is ridiculously well done, though I want to assign specific props for your picture of "death." Why? Because it looks like Skeletor, and you just can't go wrong with Skeletor!

thank you again, i'm glad you all like these pic's. as soon as i get the opportunity i'll post some of the high res versions, there are one or two i feel deserve more detailled exposing.
meanwhile i'm working on some new stuff, hope to have that soon.
meanwhile, here's some other stuff i haven't posted yet:

as of yet i don't have enough pictures for an update, but i do thank all who have commented.
right now i'm doing a sh17 load of portraits, which i might post someday, but i don't think that is really interesting.
i had an idea though...i have had a lack of topic in the past. resulting in no pictures. i thought i might be cool if the people here supply me with a subject and i will draw a picture accordingly. please let the creative energy flow freely! it doesn't matter what it is. it can be a concept, a scene whatever... just post it here and i will choose one or maybe even a couple (if there are enough ofcourse to even have a choice).

how about a bloody war scene at the bottom of a castle, in which the camera lies on the bottom and looks up to the castle, if you know what I mean...
How about a gangfightscene in a futuristic city(lots of possibilities!)?

hey embee, thanks for your input. right now i have little time on my hands, so an elaborate scene like this i might not be able to finish.
so, i'll have to think about that a little.
if you have more ideas, bring em on. that goes for anyone.
the project i'm currently working on for myself is an oilpainting of my girlfriend. right now i'm in no stage to show any of it, and i'll need her permission if ever i want to.
i still don't have enough art scanned to update, but i promise it'll be here soon. i hope that lukias makes it over herel, so we can meet and maybe post some collabo stuff...

All of these are absolutely amazing, you're very good. I love the precision and detail you put into these. The first two were my favourites, I really like those metal lion head things on the womans shoulders.

Hi, i've been hesitant to post because i still have no update.my computer got a virus...yes...blaster...i know...it's stupid.
anyway. i'm amazed to see these warm reactions. i have a lot of stuff to post, but it has to be scanned cleaned and more importantly, i have to reach dr.bang to upload it for me.
right now i've been designing cards for my daughter whom i expect in december, so lot's of cutesy stuff there.
and i've let myself be inspired to draw looser, so there's a lot of sketches there.
little color stuff, cuz i still ain't found a fullproof way to digitize oilpaintings, if anyone has a suggestion, i'm all ears
Gray> glad you like it!!!
shyst> thank you man! i was just afraid that people were going to be dissappointed because they ain't as good as te first. but i see i was worried for no reason!
Rickxu> i definately will keep posting! i'm getting a lot of love here. i share gladly!
chromo48>thank you, there's little pieces i've put so much time in as the first two, and i'm really glad it's so appreciated
Finn> thanks man, it's been a while since i've seen your stuff as well. hope to chat witchoo soon man!
well, as soon as i get my stuffed scanned and uploaded, a BIG update, but because of the afore mentioned reasons i don't know exactly when that will be!
Till Soon!
