Hi,
This is a question to freelance artists who take on commissions. Does anyone know of a template of a copyright contract which protects the artists interpretation and the commissioner's ideas?

Also a contract for royalties awarded to the artist.

If not does anyone have any advice on the subject of contracts etc.
Is it feasible to ask the commissioner to sign a royalty agreement at the same time as the copyright one, when the work hasn't started yet?

I'm new to all of this so I'm probably too trusting of clients and have realised I really need to something signed to protect all sides.

any suggestions???

thanks so much!

There are a few online but I like the Business and Legal Forms for Illustrators/Designers. They have worksheets which are very good for many people working.

Also, the Graphic Artists Guild: http://www.gag.org/pegs/index.php

Has always had the Ethical Pricing book that helps.

Saved this link awhile ago. Maybe it has some forms that would be useful.
