Did a quick sketch of one of my characters. ended up liking it so I'd thought I'd color it on the computer.

I noticed some issues with the lineart so I'm hoping for some advice. My original concept was to make him literally a sort of moving plant; he's basically like his own flower pot. His body is like the earth, and upon the earth will grow various plants (like his hair, ears, and other extensions of the body), so I'm planning to go for some very earthy tones that are also rich in color. I'm still experimenting with both concept and color, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The back of the head seems to be nonexistant, the problem seems to lie in the fact that you built the hair around the sketch of it rather than on top of it.

Other than that I sugest you add some lines in the face around the eyes and mouth to add detail and define shape a little better, either now or in the coloring process. Just be careful so he doesn't end up looking old.

edited a few things with note of the facial features. I had a friend who knows her stuff redline it, so here's the result.

edit: added the color version. Color is still experimental. I'll probably do a few versions and see which one I like. I am planning to color his eyes like the tiger's eye stone because of its beautiful reflective qualities.
