Good foundation studies. Keep drawing hands and drawing figures, and anatomy studies. Theyll help you improve fast. Also try to use cleaner lines when drawing.

videogames is my big passion aswell :) i can see u dig it! anyways, first thought is that u really need to learn anathomy and proportions (something i never seem to get time to do) but you're acctually getting better at it as one can see in ur latest piece, i like the pic where she holds the sniper pointed at the viewer best, that style is most interesting. keep on drawing! ^^

Thankk yoouu, I dont have anything at the moment but I will try my best to share more stuff worth coming back here for!
Edit: Also I realize this is a very mixed sketchbook with many different styles, Im still trying to find what best fits me, but I dont know if having a fan art cartoon next to a Realistic portrait for example is a turn off or not?

thnks for comment Bushido, yes I think my pencil work is what I should work on mostly but I try to bypass it sometimes and cover a weak penciling with colors and I think you saw through that, i will strive to improve of course!

I think it's rare to find someone who's better at comics than realism. Some of your portraits are really great - most feel like they'd be great in person, but the photos of them are poor. It'd be worth it to photograph or scan them again - especially that still life. Many of what you upload is blurry. Still, having said that, watch out for flatness.
The Heaven Boy page and the comics drawn in post 13 are great! It's nice to see a new take on linemaking in comics. When are you going to post some more of that?

Awesome SB, I agree with you on the information Overload. There is way too much out there to take in at one time. We gotta take it in piece by piece, day by day... Slowly.
Great paintings and drawings, I digg it.

Too nice, I love them ... contouring? lines style (if there's a name for it, I don't know, ha) Gunhand and robot searching ... phaw the animation looks nice also.
I've yet to touch oils, so I can't fully appreciate it, I just know that there's drying times involved and that's dangerous for people with short attention spans. The oils need a steadier hand to take picture man. xP

My painting teacher's pretty good, but the assignments are kind of boring. We're just basically copying pictures. Not too much imagination involved. =\ And yeah, isn't that elwell or something??
Ummm. that last one is INSANE. I would never dream of tackling something like that, omgsh. You rock!
Ps, you changed majors? What to? It's funny cause I'm seriously unhappy in graphic design. No one in this stupid major even draws. Bahaha. But I already changed my major once before, I can't do it again. haha. I figured in the end I'm getting my bfa and then I'll just do whatever I want. :P

Wow, really interesting last post. We used to use that drawing technique as a warm up for figuring out the 3d form of a life-drawing model, so it's nice to see it used in a more creative way. Seeing it in comic- form is quite cool!
You've got some fantastic studies, and that eloquent meeting room looks wicked. I think the perspective on it needs a bit of work though. The reliefs at the bottom of the image are all saying "copy pasta" to me. :P It's quite a wide shot and feels like a very grand area to be in; so make it feel grand. Have the reliefs bend with perspective at the sides as the table stretches away from the viewer, it'll make the area feel much bigger and real.
Love the orange-blue colours complimenting each side of the image though; but maybe the orange could be amped up a bit more.

Sorry about the late response! :P Decided to look at your SB again after you handed my ass to me on a silver platter regarding the Molly Norris thread.
The copy and pasting in the hall image isn't that obvious, it just looks off, which calls for further inspection, and THEN you sort of realize the copy pasta thing. It still works though, but there's a quote that Richard Williams says to describe animation that can apply here, he says it in context of animating every frame, as opposed to animating every second frame and holding it for two frames (timing is the same, but one looks more fleshed out)
"It might be twice the amount of work, but visually it's three times better."
Or something along those lines. :P So yeah, painting each bit by hand will be a lot more work, but the turnaround is so much better and it'll really give your image life.
Some really nice updates here, love the castle environment. :)

They're cross-contours. Not sure if ZWarrior was using them for this purpose or if it was just for an interesting aesthetic. But cross contouring is quite a good way to quickly study objects from life and figure out how it works in 3D.

first of all i dont get the 3 star ratings, I know there are people who give stupid ratings, but when I see threads with 3 star ratings, I start to feel this rating system is stupid.
As I can see that you are working to get better, irrespective of the fact where you are now, your thread is good.
Ok whatever.
Nice studies, but I seeing one thing in all your wokrs, you are not pushing the contrast as much as you should. And are you working with low opacity, I say play with high opacity, reaching the tones and values by picking the right tone from palette, rather than building upon layers. Work on them as you would work on an oil painting.
And start working on your edges too. But its good to see progress in this thread.
best of luck and keep working.

Great job on the anatomy studies in post 63. It would help if you incorporated those when you always draw figures, because those are the most solid. Even if you shade and copy the right contours, figures still look flimsy when you don't address internal structure. As a result, the post 63 figures look the more sturdy. It's important to always be aware of internal structure so you give figures mass and weight.

Well yes I did mean to work from darks to light, as well as to work opaque and then work on the edges to get tonal transition......
