hey all, been awhile since I posted but ive found new inspiration once again so my fingers should be moving. I did this picture tonight. Roughly 3 hours and took photo reference as far as where light hits on my face and a few places on the body. Um. i kinda liked the muted blue background and such. um and crits are welcome as I'll def edit it. Some stuff had to be made up such as the feet and hands. um. But yeah. soo its nightcrawler with my head on him! Kind of inspired by a sweet dream i had recently. so thakns for looking and any cc welcome.

it's pictures like that that make me feel ashamed to be alive and an artist. that blows my mind. nightcrawler has always been my favorite character. now i like him even more. keep it up.

Looks pretty cool, i recommend making the peak highlights stronger though. Also his eyes are a little too close together.

He appears kinda like he is floating, maybe you could add a bit of dimension to whatever he is sitting on?

ok all thanks for the feedback have tried a few changes. i kind of blocked in new feet and a pole of some sort since nightcrawler usually wraps his toes around something to grasp it. i think it helps the composition a bit too. let me know. thanks all. the crits are great so far. ill probably add some highlights to the feet later.. just blocked them in to get the idea. this piece should probably get moved to the work in progress thread. oops!

Love it, Dave! What about making the eyes a little brighter? You know, like a sharp yellow. Just a thought. Good work!

I LOVE IT! i friggin love nightcrawler! and i think you have this balance between realism and not-so realism. the important thing i see, is he looks real young, wasn't nightcrawler like 14?i would love to see a tiny specular highight on his (our left) eye. for drama. maybe a little more on his right shoulder/tunic thing. again, sweet job!

Simplicity works well. I like the way you presented it, it definitely feels like Nightcrawler. Nice job man...

Yeah, it looks much better with the pole thing. Adds a nice movement to it and makes his tail come alive more. Very nice.

2nd in series. Did my friend as oldschool beast. posted on the work in progress section but didnt get alot of crits. um i liked how it was going but it doesnt seem done. im not "satisfied" with it. colors lack. um took reference shot of my friends face for the expression and based his stance of an old figure of mine. changed it a little though. cc is welcome as id like to upgrade this... what character shall be next >.<

good job dave, nice lighting and the feet look good how they are to me and from his postion not much light would hit them any ways and i think it looks like a more younger verson of was that intended i also dont see a strong enough connection with the left arm(my left) to the body mabee ad more were the ribs are to balance it hummm but all around nice marks .

sorry to raise the dead, but i just saw this beast, and i love it. did you put the glasses on him because your friend has glasses or because beast should wear glasses? either way, it adds a great depth to the character and makes me like the pic that much more. i always pictured beast wearing glasses.
