"how to" on velvet?

Does anyone have any tips or tutorials on how to paint velvet? (i'm interested in doing it in photoshop, but i'm not opposed to other techniques). Any help is appreciated.

Whether you are doing it tradtional or digital. I learned that velvet is a dull surface and should not have hardly any highlights in the folds. Mainly use midtones and shadows. I did a painting of Santa last year and had his suit was made of velvet. See it here.
