is there a way to disable the auto center command with the grabber tool? i hate it when im working on a small area up close and i move the painting with the grabber tool just to have it jump to the center of the painting.

No way to disable it that I'm aware of.

Just be sure not to click when using the Grabber tool and you should be OK.
