Hmm... you've probly noticed it, but I felt like mentioning it anyway:

1. The angle of the hand holding the hilt is off relative to the the hilt itself

2. The fist hand, which I assume should be a bit closer, looks same size or even smaller, than the back, sword holding hand.

my 2 cent:
a. his head is too small, or his body is too large.
b. the latter image is too dark for final rendition, i have a very bright monitor and can hardly see it, unless you have a dark monitor and were thinking it was completely silouetted.
c. use your head as a measure of unit to measure your forearm. how many heads long is your forearm?
-now use the same concept for your drawing; use his head as a unit and use the same ratio; a little over one.
-take foreshortening into consideration.
d. draw his entire body in the painting.

Hands are very much out of propotion. Head is still too small.

Another messy sketcher. And i thought i was the only one. :p

reduce the hand size and change the sky color... make it redish or orange ( thats what it looks duing the night in a city , especialy when its war ;) )

i like your progress up until after this point, do what you will.
the swat member in the foreground doesnt seem like that good of an idea, in the sense that i feel it is distracting me.
the flag in the back is distracting me also, i think it looked better in the latter version where it is off to the side and not so noticable.

my onion:
a. shrink his arms and hands to fit his body proportionatly. his head might be too small for his body also, that just might be his arms tricking my eyes.
b. brighten the shading on his face so we can see it better.
