hey folks,

I'm going to Florida, Tennessee and Georgia around may/june and was wondering if any of you know about interesting upcoming exhibitions in these areas. I'll try to pay visits to Ringling and SCAD, but I'd like to get as much inspiration out of this trip as possible. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

take care,
Markus

SCAD's monthly Gallery Hop (May 4th) is fun--You park at one gallery on the route and a shuttle takes you to each of the other 5 showings from 5-7PM. If you aren't in town at the beginning of the month, you can still enjoy the exhibitions individually (http://scad.edu/events/calendar/index.cfm?startdate=20070501&enddate=20070601&category=).

If you're headed for SCAD Atlanta, I hate to say it but the High (http://www.high.org/) is usually disapppointing unless you can catch a good on-loan show (Gates of Paradise...mmmm).

If you travel through Jacksonville, try The Cummer (http://www.cummer.org/) which is fantastic, despite how tiny it is. Also, (though I've yet to try it) Sally Corp (http://sallycorp.com/company/tours.htm) is located downtown and the free tour of their animatronic studio looks awesome.

And Sally is easy to find! It's a ridiculously bright purple/yellow/multi-color catastrophe that can be seen from the skytrain.

GO TO THE DALI MUSEUM IF YOU GET A CHANCE>

You won't be sorry.

Also, I believe you will be just in time for RSAD's Senior thesis show!
