Ok you guys must get this about once a week, but I can't find it anywhere else. I'm new to digital art, and this site. How do I get started? I have painter 7 and photoshop 5.5 (I think), and a scanner. do I need a wacom tablet? where are the best tutorials? There are so many really skilled artists here, I'm sure you can help!

C'mon guys surely SOMEONE can help? give us a little of your worldly wisdom when it comes to these matters. I can't find a decent absolute beginners course in this stuff.

Hiya, I'm new to this forum but I've been doing digital art for a while. You don't need anymore than you already have to start. A wacom tablet enable you to have the same kind control you would have with a pen or brush. Meaning you can paint and draw digitally. But you definatley dont need one to start. I would say familiarize yourself with the programmes painter or photoshop, and experiment. at the end of the day you need to understand the tools then the rest is up to your imagination.
