I am trying to do a cast of a sculpted explosion, and the simplest things have slowed me down. I may have just missed this in Smellybug's tutorials but here are the simple problems I'm haveing.

1. I've been using liquid latex for the mold. I've heard people say that, or liquid rubber, or latex rubber, is there a difference. The stuff takes forever to dry, and the negative imprint is kinda not good. What is the name of the product I should be using.

2. This is the question I fear is very simple and will make me seem dumb but I can't get the latex layer to stick to the plaster support layer.

3. ANy tips on how do make a mold without destroying your original piece would be helpful.

I'd appreciate any help.

here is a great tuto using silicone
Silicone mold making tutorial (http://www.paint-sculpt.com/tutorials/mold-making-tutorial/mold-making-tutorial-overview.html)
if you want to create clean molds that won't shrink i suggest not using latex IMHO :confident
