Inspired by Master Craig Mullins...not even close!

Trying to mimic Craig Mullins' technique, which of course is unique and great! I'm not even close...but I'll keep trying.

It’s not nice that you didn’t get any reply so…
My advice – study more anatomy first (pencil on paper way, or any other that turns you on) and as you said keep on trying.

Why not study and mimic the works of those who most likely inspired Mullins. Impressionism, Realism, artists from the Hudson river school. What you're doing here is like trying to learn from a bad photocopy of a painting instead of going to the source material. When I was young I learned to draw from copying and mimicking comic book art. It wasn't until later on that I realized I could learn much more from drawing from life. Besides, there's enough Mullins clones out there as is. Find your one way.

Thanks darcult and Eric. The reason for imitating Craig Mullins and not going after the "source material", is the way that Craig uses digital tools to produce his art. There may be Impressionism, Realism, and Hudso River School influence, but there is no way that the old masters could have used digital tools the way Craig does. For me, Craig is a master. He is my source material. I have seen Craig Mullins' clones out there, but none as good as him. I believe that if I could (some day) mimic Craig's style, I would have a very powerful tool in my hand, even if it wasn't my own unique style. Most probable, is that I will not get there, but in the meanwhile it will be a strong motivation.
