It's water color and pencils,

in reality It's an a3, and
u're right , nobody like to see is thread going deeper and deeper without any response :p :p

forge, to be honest, this piece is closer from a sketch than a finished piece. according to what i've seen from you, you could definitely do better today than three years ago right? :D
sometimes the lack of answers is logical, and i'm sure you know yourself why nobody took a more precise look at this work. you should have organised the black and white areas before going to the inking. for now, the two large cliffs on both sides, are breaking up the composition, also because of the fact you have let the central area in plain white tones.
it's a bit like moses spreading the water in half, visually speaking :D
you should probably leave this work aside and concentrate on some of your actual stuff according to me. or if you decide to continue this piece, forget about coloring, just grab a pencil and find the right areas for the main shadows and dark spots. all the rest will then be so easier.

mathieu lauffray has been a close friend for the last twelves years, so it's always a pleasure to see some peeps like you having him as a reference. he's definitely a master according to me. keep it up

you're right i should have post this in the unfinished work, i'm not going to continue this work... It's just that I found it few days ago under hundreds of papers and I just post it for fun...
For the lack of response, I first post ( with my small head) a 2 mg pic !! that's why i was wondering...
