Ahh, very nice. I especially like the old man and the butcher. There's loads of character in these, and really expressive faces. If I were to critique, I would say the woman has the tendency to look rather mannish. It's difficult to determine whether that's intentional given she's the only female, but since the men tend to be of the hyper-masculine variety, it leads me to believe it probably wasn't. It's the strong jawline, small forehead and flat hair that are doing it most, I think.
Anyway, good show!

Man, it helps me a lot the half-finished look of some close ups, I´m starting to learn how to deal with the wacom and your works are gonna be one of my references for sure. Like a lot the use of color, have you much experience as traditional painter?

Thanks for the replies!
- thank you asoir
- great input, tully, I totally agree having a more distant look at it now. She was not ment to be overly masculine, so I will definetly get back to that.
- dude, badaboom, flattered you want to take that for reference - especially after having seen your website. Especially your graphical stuff and the concepts were guite impressive! I never really worked a lot with colours, I basically learned by looking around. These forums definetly are helping a lot! Cheers.

hello. I have dubious thoughts about your pictures... they are very stylish and appeal to my aesthetic feelings, they are all elegantly united by the same manner to paint and mood.
They look flawless technically except some little things like proportions on the woman and and playboy in white pants: their bodies are very much elongated and stretched comparing with a length of the head (one to 10 or more)... It is a bit off with rest of the crowd. Older men and the surgeon have real life proportions. So I guess those two are heroes and main characters...
Dubious feeling emerges when I'm trying to think who those people are and they don't allow me inside their souls farther than their occupation.
They look and feel very much distanced, avoiding contact. The colors make me think the same. It is cold, keeping on the distance colors, IMO.
Woman and surgeon have the same type of faces and general expression on their faces., I just can say about them that they are stern people, pedants, they make plans and don't like to changes them.
Almost all characters have not expressive, dull eyes except the old men (man in the tuxedo and the butcher have much brighter, or better say more open personality). I might characterize their eyes as unfriendly eyes, wolf's eyes, alert eyes.
All characters are keeping me on distance with their glance. The are unsocial people. Except flirty playboy ( or agent 007) and he still is very subtle for his role and reserved for character like this. You could have given him much more expressive pose, IMO, with some looseness in his personality, he still looks very much restrained. Only white paints and strong well fitted figure makes me think that this guy enjoys his life. I wish you gave him more signs of well living and his self-adoration: like man's jewelry, expensive watch with an elegant bracelet... I do realize that he is a killer on assignment and elusiveness is his nature... But I wish you gave him some personal features. His face has too general expression too. I wish you gave him this mix of attractiveness and arrogance, negative charisma.
Woman as I already wrote has this resoluteness on her face and modesty in her clothes, like she is meant to blend easily in the crowd.. There is noting distinguished about her except the face determination.
A butcher and and the old man with with angel's wings got the most love from you in my opinion and they have the most juicy taste for me.
I like the prickly, dangerous eyes of tuxedo angel and and self esteem in the butcher's pose.
So... as I said, a dubious feeling, but I would certainly appreciate more hints for each character.
Guy in the leather jacket has the warmest expression, with scattered thoughts, confused or scared or in the middle of making decision, but I think his eyes are not lined up with the line of the mouth and nose. closest to us eye is a bit too high...

i agree with sve about the coldness of the characters. and the obvious technical mastery :D however, i feel perhaps this is what you wanted to display?: these characters are slaves to their jobs and have little existence otherwise! really well done mate :)
cheers!

thanks everybody for checking out my humble thread.
WolfBane- Thanks for the props!
sve-I appreciate your comments so much. It is so great to see you really looking closely at what I am doing( as you are doing to many others as well!)
"...their bodies are very much elongated and stretched comparing with a length of the head ..."
Although I did the characters proportions instinctively the woman and the playboy really are the main characters. But I've gotta admit, that I probably overstretched the proportions a bit.
"...I might characterize their eyes as unfriendly eyes, wolf's eyes, alert eyes.
All characters are keeping me on distance with their glance..." I gotta take this as a compliment, because theses characters are all part of a big russian organ and human traffic mafia - even the old man (angel) who is a charity organisation chairman as a cover...
Thanks for all the other really productive critiques - as I said, it is always a great pleasure to have you respond to my threads.
mrgrumble-This is exactly how I wanted these characters to appear. Thank you for the comment
ich-cheers, man
soja-thanks for the compliments, man. Ya I'm back. Have been doing so much NDA stuff lately that its hard to share good stuff...Thanks for the stars, though ;)
crazybrush-Thank you! After a second look I do have to agree with the highlight thing - as an excuse, I was under quite some timepressure so there wasn't really time for a second polishing phase... Thanks for the crit though!
hurricane-thanks hurricane - really enjoyed your lates FF thread!
inkbrushnme-ya I got plenty of them but I need to wait for the NDAs to run out... Thanks for props
wasker-cheers!!
Another character - different context though: its a priest of death and sleep, Boron - the giver of rest and dreams. Hope you like it. I would consider it still just 70 %finished, but I couldn't bother to go back to this one yet...
