I just saw T3 and thought I'd draw something.
Vertical eye stereovision?

Some walker. The usual clawed crab design.

cool, when you posted the tankbots, you said you didn't have a style with photoshop yet. this is proving you wrong!

Cool stuff! I think these are more interesting than the new designs in a the movie (I thought the new T-1 didn't compete with the tank and flyer designs from the original). Only crit is in the first one, the feet don't look like they're on the ground. The walker tank is totally sweet.
I wonder if vertical stereoscopics would work as well as horizontal? You could rangefind just as well, and would have better vertical peripheral vision, but worse horizontal peripheral vision (I suppose).

well done, mr prom :)
the only thing i'm not entirely sure about (design-wise) is the hook on the walker's rear leg. it doesn't seem to be of any actual use in forst glance (at least to me) and doesn't add to the shape of the machine.
re stereovision: it'll suffer the same things from than horizontal stereovision does... just switching vertical insensitivity with horizontal insensitivity.
since we are far from computing and interpretation algorithms that work as fast as our brain, i could imagine robots with three or more eyes. maybe even a hexagon or an octagon of eyes with as large a radius as possible. we have some kind of sense for what makes the shape of an object but imparting this into a machine (ai) could be hard. so, better parallaxing could be of some use to discern objects from each other.

I noticed a couple of grave pesrpective errors on the walker. The 'spoiler' has the wrong angle and the plate on the front leg thatäs further away should be seen from the edge cuz of the angle of the other one.
I don't like the designs I do in PS.. I get so sloppy and just toss blobs to the left and right.
Photoshop 5.5 only has 2 brushes so it's kinda forcing that style on my. If I used another program, like painter 8 (I dun have it) my paintings would look different, more like my acrylics perhaps.
The black sentinel/drone that lands on Hoth in StarWars might have good vision. It has plenty of eyes, the more the merrier they say.... A good CPU could probably handle any number of eyes positioned asymetrically.
