Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me. I've done this before, but I simply CANNOT remember how to do it :)
Okay, so here it is. You can have two windows open in Photoshop for the same image. So this can allow you to have one window zoomed in for detail, while the other one is still zoomed out so you can see the overall painting.
