hey everyone,
android was in hollywood last night and stopped by my studio and it inspired me to post some new images. also, i've just made archival giclee prints of the mohawk girl painting posted here. this is the first day they're available and only 40 were made. all the info is on the front page of my site if you'd like one for your own collection. i ship to europe too. http://www.kevart.com.
i'll be on here a lot in the next few weeks to answer everything. it was fucking awesome to see you all at the workshop in san fran!!! the new kevart.com will be up next week sometime. thanks for all the requests for an update. it's almost here. enjoy the work and draw like you haven't a care in the world.
p.s. sorry the vagina drawings aren't scratch and sniff.

Beautiful work Kevin. Really inspirational.
I notice you've done autopsy pieces. Are these done from life, and do you just go and sit in on Medical lectures? Just curious. Over in the UK we had Von Haagens doing his autopsy's on live TV. Talk about educational.

Yay hes alive! I thought we lost you for a while then Kevin *poors a few pints of guiness to keep kev lured in*
First of all that nine inch nails image is great! Was it done from observation, mind, or abit of both? I really think the frame finishes this piece off nicley too.
Im always inspired by these medical deformaties theres something so intriguing about them. Speaking of which, do you know of any good sites/places to purchase these pickled cretins or of any museums which hold them (preferably in europe)
Thanks for fueling the fire dude and tell your secret friend pudding bowl to get his ass down here :P
Draw mother fuckers draw!

word of advice -don't eat while looking at this guy's stuff.
cause i know i've seen alot, but that preggie corpse simply shocked me. it caugh me so off guard that i was just sitting there with my mouth open, until i remembered i have some half-mashed food in it which i wouldn't want on my keyboard. so i scrolled abit down and swallowed. probably of sheer amazement again, because this shit's so fuckin beautiful.
hope to meet you (again) some day,san fran 05 lies so far back already.
brilliant work, and keep em coming :)

Damn Kev that 2nd piece is absolute insanity. Charcoal? Soo tight. All of it kicks ass, thanks for sharing.
You are still the best pencil artist out there right now - at least imo - though you probably do have to share that title with Marko and Wes.

thanks everyone. shit. i guess i never do post enough. i'm going to try to answer everything in this and if i forget--hit me up and i'll repost.
1.the second drawing is all pencil--no charcoal at all and it measures 4 x 3 feet.
2.the nine inch nails painting was bought by trents producer in london and was painted all from life. the naked chicks are ex-girlfriends and that's my bong and NIN record.
3.all the anatomical work was from life. i've had different people sneak me into anatomy labs (not the work shown here). it's hard to find great access to these things. the preg cadaver was from bodyworlds when it was in downtown los angeles. the siamese twins were painted at the Vrolik museum in amsterdam. the vrolik is in the university hospital about 10 minutes (by train at dam square) in amsterdam. it's hard to find. i forget what stop it is. there's another one like it in leiden. in london there's the (i dont remember the exact name) but it's something like The Physician's Museum. there's also atleast one huge on in paris but i can't remember the name. go online and search. that's what i do in europe to find this shit usually.
4.yeah i posed for kent williams for that painting. he just finished a 3/4 figure one last week that's online yet. it's a portrait of me taking off the elizabethan dress. sorry manley, you can't see any goodies.

Hi,
The pencils are very nicely exectuted. I like the second image the most.
I was wondering though. You mention the nude models/women ( I prefer that
term over "naked chicks" more if you don't mind...... ) being your (ex)girlfriends.
But what goes through your mind when drawing this? ( I'm assuming off course they're from life ) :
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=107567&d=1173852661
Or when you ask her to pose like this? Or did she voluntarely pose for you in this manner?
And do you ever hesitate in making these drawings public?
I allways admired your work shown on your website but i can't help noticing
myself raising an eye-brow over some of this...

Heheh, I was too chickenshit to ask because I wasn't sure if it was appropriate,
but I was kinda wondering about that myself. :)
Besides that I concur the general sentiment in the topic, absolutely breath-taking work.
I couldn't stop staring at the two 'pregnant' pieces.
On a little side note, I checked out the site and and I found it very hard to read your biography,
due to the colors of the typography blending in with the background, thought you'd might want to know.
