Do NOT reply to job offers, unless:

- the job poster specificly asks for it

- you have a legit question or comment

In other words, NO "mail sent" or "I'm interested, please find my shit in my sig below", and definitely no cookie-cutter replies.
Use e-mail to contact the employers, just like the big boys do (how many pro-level artists do you see replying in these threads? what, you think they're not applying for those jobs? :) )

As to the reason why:
It's annoying
It bumps the thread for no reason, making it harder for the others to find the newest job offers.
Most of the employers don't even come back to check these threads, so why bother

I can imagine people quickly posting something just to get subscribed to the thread.. well you can use the "subscribe to thread" function for that! nifty huh?

Hoping to make this section of conceptart.org a bit more tidy this way.. please obey my command or die a thousand deaths, thanks for understanding

Constructive comments welcome in this thread.

Good plan... thanks for doing this. It'll make navigating this board MUCH easier.

How about implementing a feature which allows only the thread starter (and moderators ofcourse :teeth: ) to post and modify messages in the thread?

re: they're still posting "mail sent" etc
since i just posted this sticky today, i'll give it a few days to kick in.. after that, the moderators will just delete such replies.. it's easier/quicker than pointing fingers and links ;)

re: implementing the "feature"
this would leave out the option for people to ask legit questions and comments, which would be a shame as well
a good question, and answer from the employer, can save everyone involved a lot of time

I used to leave the message 'email sent' to simply find the job I've applied to, and I start using it this way because I saw that many people were doing that.
I didn't thought for a second this could have ever been a problem but it seems it is! :bashful:

I will stop doing this immediately, I'm sorry!

Leaving a thread open for say, just a week and then having it closed would help as well. A week should allow for any pertinent questions to be asked, after which point, people looking for work just need to scan the sub-forum. And if the thread starter needs to open their thread after that period they can ask a mod to help them unlock it.

Also, regarding keeping track of jobs you've responded to- I cut and paste the url of the thread that I'm submiting to in my actual e-mail submission. That way I have a link to follow after the fact and I don't have to go find it here with 'Search'.
