This is something I started working on this morning, and would love for some critiques before I continue on with it.

There's about five hours worth of work in it so far, and I am working in Painter IX.

Looks pretty good.

There's some defenite weirdness with the face, specifically the eyes. I think they're a bit misalighned and are at different agles. The hands are another problem area, I'm seeing them go a little too far back in space, like they should be passing through her clavicle. It's also a bit hard to tell how the fingers are interacting with each other.

The eyes seem off a bit. And cast shadows are missing.

Is this a rule or common courtesy?

Is this a rule or common courtesy? I'm not sure about the first, definitely the second. Plus it's a sure way to pump up your thread views. So, edited.

I like the piece quite a bit, despite, or perhaps because of, the odd drawing. The face doesn't bother me, but the way her hands seem to be digging under her clavicles does.

I get what elwell is saying about the face not bothering him (though if you want to get technical there are structural flaws) it's almost like part of his style. But the hands\clavicle thing also bugs me, just show the rest of the fillanges (sp?) and it will give more of the feeling that she isn't trying to mutilate herself.
