ok so i've been looking at the art on this board for a while and the stuff people post is incredible. i really want to learn how to get that painted style and feel that a lot of people here get. sorrta along the lines of sparth or craig mullins. i mean obviously i wouldn't hope to be 1/4 as good as them, but it's just that technique i'd like to learn.

so that's a sketch/character design i did last night in painter. it was pretty quick so it's not the best i can do color wise, but even if i'm trying hard it doesn't get much better or any more painterish...if that makes sense.

so any help or advice you could offer would really be appreciated. thanks.

in my opinion i think you must try to give more volume on it, and perhaps try to use another way to color it.... the drawing is good ... increase volum and contrast and i'm sure you will have good characters
