It takes adjusting but you'll get used to it and realise what a time saver a tablet is. The first week is KILLER.. Keep at it,

do you have it set proportional to the screen, or stretched to fit? My freing got one awhile ago and hated it. I went over and found that he didnt have the tablet proportional to the screen. Mabye thats why its harder than a mouse?

I got the smallest one you can buy the other day (I think that's 3x5) just because it was all I could afford and I really wanted to try digital painting. So far it's damn near impossible for me to work that small. Is that something that takes adjusting as well or is a Wacom that small pretty much useless for artwork?

on the settings you should be able to find a button where you can choose: use entire tablet, or use section of tablet.....
I had the same problem because I actually was pretty good controlling the mouse when it came to painting or drawing , but it just needs some gettin used to...
or...it could also be that you have your tablet set to mouse mode, instead of pen mode....mess with the settings of the tablet a lot....the speed, pressure, orientation, etc....
