Finding the general form of drapery, objects, etc is no problem but when you start to get more into details, its more like sitting and trying to figure out a math equation. I can sit there for an hour and wonder how exactly the cross contour lines will travel across the form on one tiny complex wrinkle......it can get so frustrating....any help with this????????????????? it takes me so long to solve the complexities if drapery after I block in the general forms.

maybe your problem is that you are trying to do it all in one line. Why not use a single line until the contour ends (ie. dissappears from view). This way you can concentrate on the line moving back and forth in space without bursting your brain wondering what happens when you can't see it.

Ian,
Can you elaborate on that? I use hatching marks (like Durer) to build the form not just one line.
