Hey guys, today(on my 21st. birthday) I went to art center to talk with a counselor about my portfolio. He said it's fine and I'm ready for Art Center. So all I have to do now, is get my transcripts, and fill out forms and such. So i should be submitting it within the next week or so. I also have to write an essay about three artist's that influence me the most and explain why.

Can you guys tell me three artist's that influence you? I have so many to choose from, but I was thinking of choosing an old master, Like J.C Layendecker, but I'm not sure. I think the other two will be guys from CA. Most likely Android will be one of them.;)

So once again, I'd like to know who inspire you and why? (if you can and want to tell me...)

Ill keep you guys updated on what Art Center tells me.

Thanks for all the help, critiques, suggestions, and comments you guys have given me.... I have learned so much from this website, and the people that visit here. :)

Thanks, Jason and Andrew for making conceptart possible!
:inlove:

Congratulations!!!

Well, the concept artist who inspired (not influenced) me most is Doug Chiang (Star Wars), I am mostly influenced by Alan Lee and John Howe I think. Just to drop a few names.

Good luck!

Congratulations Oskar...eventhough you being ready for Art Center is no surprise to me...as for the essay, I know it would be really hard to me to pick only three artists, since there are so many that have influenced me...

i think the idea of the question is to get to know a little bit about you more.

congrats and enjoy your 14 week sessions of hell with 3 week doses of bliss to remind you what the real world is like ;).

congrads on the ACCD entrance.

Fisa is right....do all you can now (watch movies, read magazines, sleep, more sleep, and get even more sleep). Once you enter art center, those things will be gone. =)

Are you going in as ID or illustration?

Man you are SO LUCKY. I wish I could afford to move to CA and attend Art Center. I cant find any other school that offers the program I want (ID) in such a good environment.. If I could I would be right there next to you!

Anyways, as far as modern concept artists that inspired me I would say:

Feng (I think his was the first website I saw that really made me exteremy interested in concept art)
Sueng Ho
Jason Manley
Andrew Jones
Scott Robertson

there are many others but those are some of the first off the top of my head.

Anyways Congrats and Good luck!

Are you going full time?
I am just woundering if you can have a full time job and still attend full time, and if it is worth going part time.

Having a full time job, is impossible while attending Art Center. I live south from it, its like 30-45 from my house. I live at home with my parents still.

ahh youre lucky..

Ive been trying to find ways to work it out so that I might be able to attend if I passed the application process, but Id have to work a full time job, and that just wouldnt work..
