hi all
I thought I would throw in an image of a sculpt I just...almost completed. i still needs paint and finessing...but i thought I would get some feed back to get things rolling.
Tell me what you think.

is that the armature showing through on his belly?, i had the same problem on the one i've just finished. really great work though the guy has real character.

if that is the armature showing through there on the belly, i predict some serious issues with cracking when you bake.

I stumbled across this on my demon princess sculpt i just finished. where the clay was a bit thicker, it held up fine. but across the top of the chest where it was thinner, it cracked a fair bit. so either be ready with the super glue to patch or add on a bit more clay.

... if it is baked already... how on earth did you get no cracks?!?!

naw...the shiny stuff is foil...I use it to lighten the weight of the sculpey. It is already baked and is pretty fortified.
the foil stablizes the sculpt...he is secured at the arm on the stack of wooden tires with wire and a wood screw...the tires are liquid nailed.
the ears are made with cardboard and covered with sculpey...again a stablizing process...I have had minimal cracking occur this way.

Hi!

Nice sculpt!...but, there is something odd with his legs in the back, they look twisted or is intentional and you wanted to look that way?

Anyway, the rest looks great...those things under his arm are sculpted too?

the tires are wooden...and bought at Michael's Crafts...a somewhat lazy fix, but a short cut. I teach a character development class and this is my instructional demo. I have the class make a maquette as a final project...from 2d turnarounds and modelsheets. I show them how to dry brush next week...I will update the forum after the maquette is colored.
the legs are supposed to be heavily wrinkled jeans...his legs are shorter tham his arms and torso...he is a kinda throwback to an apelike brutish archetype.

Cool sculpt but his right leg does seem to have an awkward twist to it.

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Hi!

I think that the problem with the legs is in here: in the front view the leg that is planted is the left....now in the back view the leg that is planted is the right...you know what I mean?

thanks for the input everyone...I can see the awkwardness you all have mentioned...perhaps I can tweak the pants yet. I will repost a new image later. Thanks especially to Miguel.

I really love the sculpt. Same crit as the others. Is the leg on the back the same one he is standing on in the front. I had to do a double take on it. LOL

That is really the only thing and if nothing else he has real character and I like it! :)

Looks cool, charcter is very interesting, I think a more wrinkled or leathery texture would have brought out the skin a good deal. Cool Stuff, the Michaels tires and treasure chests are a damn good improv.
