The top middle one (head) reminds me of some of the old master drawings. Leonardo maybe ( I can't remember)?
Anyhow, I really like the way your lines convey the skull.....so many don't pay attention to that.

Very nice work.
I was wondering, how do you start a drawing of portrait like that. When you draw a head do you have some pattern you follow; some diagram you draw out(in our mind or on paper).
WHenever i draw a portrait i have to always start iwth the sphere, center line, eye, eye, nose, mouth, ear.
Your work doesn't look like you do it like that at all. Which is what makes these even more jaw dropping to me.

i hear you davi! i wonder this about mr. jones as well. i think he said he usually starts with the eyes. i usually start with my forehead.
mr. jones, these are beautiful drawings. i especially like the profile on the left and the "i'm all wet" one middle right.
do strokes like this come after time, or are they learned in a classroom?

Awesome Andrew.
Gotta love loose, fluid lines.

You have very pronounced facial features. Do you think that makes your face easier to draw out of memory/all together?
Just wondering.

thanks agian
Davi, I usualy start off with the forehead, I have my own personal reasons but I like to define the shape and form first before I start on the features, but I always like to keep it fresh and new, sometimes I draw from the chin up, or the ear across, whatever keeps me interested, I am always try not to fal into many habbits, ironic huh?
Keyth , all strokes come with time, I try and imagiane that I have one stroke, and I have spent my entire life making that one stroke, every time I draw I add to the length of that stroke, now I think my stroke would wrap around the world. maby someday it will strech to the moon, he he
its all practice and practice, and confidence, mind over matter jedi tricks help too.
yea I dont know about easier but it makes it more fun, but everyones face is unique arangments of shapes, its all in your mind
are circles easier to draw that squares?

Very cool, so basicly you've learned how to do the portrait, just by doing line contour. I'm guessing that skill comes with experience.
