I like the last pic the best! Seems to have a good expression.
Not sure about the other two...they look crooked but that jst might be the angle of the camera.

It'll definitely change as I go. By the way, you have the coolest icon EVER.

I'm using this stuff called Sculpey. It never dries until you bake it in the oven. You can use a normal home oven! You can also keep adding to the sculpture even if you've baked it already.
Here are some new pics. I'm not too happy with how it's turning out, but I'll keep working with it. I think I'll have to sand it to get it smooth like i want it. I wanted the hair a bit closer together, but I baked the head before putting them on so it was difficult to poke the head with the wires. I have no idea why I forgot about that before I baked it. Ugh...

it looks like you're using regular sculpy as opposed to SUPER sculpy.. from what ive heard regular sculpy is some pretty bad stuff and will crack soon after baking. i've used super sculpy and havent had any problems. i'm not sure but it looks like you're using ALOT of sculpy and the stuff does get expensive... use aluminum foil and metal wire as filler and build the sculpy around it. it also helps to cook the sculpy from the inside and not just the outside when baking. good luck and post more pix later on!

haha, its "marsmallowman" ;)
Aha, Ive never seen sculpey, only supersculpey (the pinkish clay). I agree with Pucky that metalwire and aluminumfoil is good inside - at least for me, supersculpey is way to expensive to " fill up" the entire sculpture with.
U can reburn sculpey? I didnt know that. Ultracool - then it can be "updated"! :D
Another tip - use regular coocking oil to smoothen the clay (I use "rapsolja", swedish favourite oil, but ive hear corn-oila and other stuff works good too)with - take some on your finger and "polish" the sculpture with it. It also can be used as a "softener" for the clay. :D

Cool! I never thought about using cooking oil to smooth it out! Too bad I've already baked it. I was just going to sand it down.
Yeah, I'm going to look into Super Sculpey after the Sculpey I bought runs out. I got a big box of it so it wasn't too pricey at all. Plus my friend works at Michaels so she gave me a phat discount. I'll post new pics very soon.

Here's the latest progress. I'm not likin' this much at all. I really should have planned ahead with a sketch or something. Instead I just kinda went with "the flow". I need to smoothen it out and then I'll paint it in hopes of saving it...

Okay, I put this in photoshop and I'm thinking of painting the sculpture like this. Any thoughts?
Also, does anyone know of a way I could make it look glazed when I finish painting it? Obviously I can't use real glaze becuase I'm using a home oven. Also I'll be painting it with acrylic paint so I can't really put that in the oven.

It looks a little like maya indian sculpture. :D
Colors look good too.
Maybe U can varnish it for a "glazed" look?

I painted the sculpture tonight. I still would like to make it glossy. I'm kinda happy with how it turned out. It's "aight".
