Hello Everyone..

I'm waay out of class level here but I'm just wondering if you guys could give some feedback that might change that (... eventually) ^_~

It's a small pic I sketched two weeks ago, and CG'ed today using PSP 5.0 -- Used a multiply layer on the sketch. - Gave it a weird color pencil look O_o

http://www.rpgsource.net/linguar/images/artwork/m_neo_sk_043-05-cg-10.jpg

It's the first attempt I've really ever done on a sky, or a cg'ed background for that matter :P

It's a remake of a pic I did about a year ago, there were only about two similarities between the images though, they're both sorceress' and the similar stance :o

The older pic can be found here (http://www.rpgsource.net/linguar/images/artwork/sorceress.gif).

And anyway, what's this class system people keep talking about from here and there. -- 'Member of the middle class' and such?

Maybe someone can explain that to me ^_^;

Thanks,

-Linguar

I´m a noob, but perhaps i can help you in some ways.

suggest a light source and try to put more shadows and contrast in your pic. Moreover you could add a more interesting looking background, or at least make him more detailed in some ways. The ground doesnt´t really look as it was built out of stones (apart from these hinks at her feet) and the clouds could look more realistic. (have a look at cloud´s from other artists. This really might help you)

the sorceress herself looks good, easy perspective, but what the hell... I just wonder about her cape, which is strange, I think?

hope this will help, keep practising :)

outclassed or not, this place can teach you a poo'load of stuff. i'd say, lose the anime eyes, i like anime, but they dont fit with the drawing. and her eyes are the only white in the WHOLE piece, maybe if u gave her eyes some shading, eyes are round.
:D

hey man. keep'em com'n no matter what. it will take time to develope the technical skills you crave. keep pushing and it will happen.

as far as advice besides practicing all the time, i would say this: think about the setting more. think more about different ways to design clothing or armor or weapons or whatever. for example, her clothes are somewhat "clubb-y" or "ravish" or...you know what i mean. perhaps a different background would work better....one that compliments the "type" of person she is. i mean...what is she doing in that setting, why is she dressed this way, what's her motivation, why does she have a mutated arm. i'm only saying this as a means of pushing your thinking and design. you could very well just be "drawing pictures"...which is totally fine. but (and I need to do this more as well) it may be beneficial if you put some more "idea" or "concept" into your future peices.

i hope this at least gets you thinking a bit. because drawing is not always about making pretty pictures:p .

no matter what though...keep pushing. :chug:
