Well I've had this idea of a demon/zombie soldier floating around in my head for a while now. I've never done any army-esk characters (Q3F was close) or any zombies so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.
I've also been neglecting my pencil work for about a year now, opting instead to concept exclusively in Photoshop. It was refreshing to get back to my roots with this. Big thanks to Hawkprey for showing a few things that really helped me concentrate on his form first and his details second.
He will mark my first model that I will release and open to the community to work on. He's going to go into UT2003 and, if I'm not too lazy, he will be a member of a squad for team play.

Excellent as always, its good to get back to the good ol' pencil and paper sometimes.
Big thanks to Hawkprey for showing a few things that really helped me concentrate on his form first and his details second.
What might those "few things" be if you dont mind enlightening us all?

Geez Bobo
When the hell did you find time to do this?
Bobo does not sleep.
He looks excellent man! Pouches are very cool.
You know I like all the dirt and grit on him as well.
You need to cut it out. I cant keep up with you.

Hey, thanks everyone for the comments. I wish I could have a little more for yall to see at this time but we’re in heavy crunch on EF2 and are trying to get our alpha milestone out the door.
Here is a quick WIP inspired by the recent speed threads over at the Polycount forums. This took about 30 to 45 minutes using surface modeling and meshtools. It still has a lot of revisions to go through but the basic form is done.

Ok a little on my thoughts for this guy so that it might make more since as too why he isn't all tattered and worn. I’m going to make a full team and try to make it work as an extended world in the UT2003 universe. (If I can somehow learn to defeat this villain called sleep, I will actually make a level to go with them too.) I want to stick to the specs (polycount, texture sizes, etc..) of the characters that ship with the game so this won’t be blown out and I might have to loose some of the strap geometry in favor of skinning them on.
Tag line: The members of the DSR74th (Distant Soil Reconnaissance) signed on for the latest super soldier program with the promise of increased strength, agility, and endurance. They just didn’t know they would have to go to hell and back to get it.
The basic idea is that this squad of elite soldiers is tricked by the government into joining their new super soldier program. Unbeknownst to the soldiers, the government has opened a portal to hell and has developed the technology to trap several lesser demons into fully controllable vessels, the soldiers themselves. These “undead” soldiers are now outfitted and used in an endless battle for sport in the Tournament within the Unreal universe. By doing so the government has opened trade and with the other worlds and is rapidly advancing their planets development….but at what cost! :)
Thanks again for the feedback and I will post the finished model once I have it,
BoBo

Those are sweet, they really fit in well with the Geno/Juggernaut Gladiators.
That obviously the look you went for, but they still look very nice.
The poistioning of the back also remind me of Toad from XMen Evolution.
