I know there's tons wrong with this image probably, anybody wanna point out some stuff? There needs to be more waves on the right side of the picture, I know that much. My mother says the sky needs something, but neither of us are sure what it is because the image is supposed to be at night, so I can't make it too bright.

This is the most "complex" painting I've done yet and I think it's my best work so far. But... it needs help... so... help..?? ;-;

Wow you're on to something here.

You need more depth in the image, you use the same tone all over. The cliffs near the camera shouldn't have as bright highlights. The ocean should reflect the light from the lightnings. A gradient in the sky would help pop it some ( look here for example: http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/~tonyt/dome%202003/astrolabe%20night.JPG ) Another idea is to break up the colors as seen in this one ( http://www.cis.nctu.edu.tw/~whtsai/World%20Highlights/New%20Side%20Show%20Webpages/originalimages/Australia%202006---02_A%20night%20scene%20of%20Sydney%20skyline%20see n%20from%20our%20cruise%20in%20Port%20Jackson.jpg ). Try finding as much reference as possible! Also a general thumb rule when painting landscape is objects that are near you are darker than objects in the distant - Because the humid and waterparticles in the air that reflects the light. This should apply in the night aswell. So, not so much dark in the horizon and more dark near the camera.

Keep it up..

hmm, I see what you're saying... I'll work on that and maybe post an update in the next day or so. :)

Wow, me like! That’s really cool...somehow it appears a bit flat...I cant put my finger on it but something makes it flat....
