Hello everyone :D
I'm new to this forum and thought I'd post a pic.
I've just started doing some concepts based on what the world might be like in the future if the roman empire hadn't fallen. Yeah....silly idea but what the heck. I'm hoping to do some buildings n robots n stuff too. Anyway, I've spent tooooo long doing 3d stuff and not enough 2d work over the last few years, so I really need to brush up my technique :)
Here's the first image I've done so far (drawn on paper, scanned, photoshop'd)....hopefully more to follow soon......

Any comments and suggestions would be great......cheers :D

Thanks for the positive comments guys :) I'll definately try adding more detail.....after lookin at some of the amazing work in this forum, I think I really have a lot to do to catch up with some of these guys...
Anyways, I'm starting to design a "mecha-turion"....a mechanised centurion type thing (crap name but never mind). Just workin on little bits n pieces and seeing how they look (again keepin with the roman style)
Here's an arm drawing.....

A quick (and crap) colour job on another arm.....there's a few bits of this one that I like, and a few bits of the other....

I realllly like the way you colour. Is that in Photoshop or with marker ?
Anyway, I want to comment on your first pic...the individual pieces look right but they dont mesh together well. The right arm looks too far to the right to match up to the socket. It also doesn't look like anything is hooking the boots up the body. They're only mildly attached to the skirt.
And er, no hands ?
Great job regardless! :P

otherside - thanks for the feedback.....all the shading was done in photoshop after doing a pencil drawing, tracing over it with black pen and scanning it. Sorry if the leg looks weird where it should meet the pelvis.....guess I should drawn a bit more there.....but the pelvis is supposed to meet the leg on the side of the leg we don't see.....ummm, did that make sense :p so any attaching bit's and pieces are basically obscured by the leg itself......ummm....i guess :)
anyways, i'm more or less tryin to work on various sections of the body first....just for fun and to get myself drawing again after doin toooooo much 3d and not enough 2d for the last few years :p plus i need to buy a bigger sketchbook before I draw the whole "mecha-turion" dude.....hopin to add as much detail as possible :) i got a verrrrry bold scribbley style when i draw and things get kinda cluttered on the page.....which can get confusin on a smaller page :p my uni drawin class tutor made sure he pointed that fact out to me tho.....lol.
