Hello all, this is my first post here at Concept art :)
I first heard of the site in the magazine Imagine FX, and I just want to say you all are a great inspiration and help to me, as I am just starting digital art.

This is my second finished piece, and I hope some can give me abit of feedback. This is the original size (something I realize is a mistake now). Reference was used, I can post if needed.

Thanks, comments appreciated :)

Hurley,
Welcome to CA. I like this painting. That eye is haunting
The only place it feels weird to me is where the mouth and mask come together. I don't feel the separation between the mask and face that I do elsewhere.

(I'm new myself here, so I don't know if this is going to be helpful)

The ear should be a bit crisper. Its too fuzzy right now. I've drawn where it needs to be touched up.

(please excuse my terrible hand writing. I used my mouse :\ )

I hope this helps...

This looks like a meticulously copied still from a movie. It’s not a bad copy, but drawing from life would be a better way to sharpen your skills. There is a link in my sig to a thread called “Concept Art 101” if you are looking for ways to improve.

By the way, how did you get off the island? No, wait, don’t tell me – I’m still on season two. ;-)

Thanks for comment woodbert, I did have a bit of trouble painting the lips, and I can see the mistake. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Lycan: Thanks very much! I can see how the ear isn't well blended, thanks for pointing that mistake out. It was the last bit I done-I guess I wanted to just finish it!

Seedling: Yes, your right, its just a copy from a still. I will definatly check out the link you gave me :) How did I get off the Island? Well.. keep watching ;)
