Does anyone have any good links to mechanical references on the web?.....specifically mechanical joints?....or anything mechanically cool looking?
Regards to all

Davi:...you don't like anime?......a lot of work out there has anime influence.......sometimes very subtle......I don't like anime sometimes because their stories and writers suck......but I do respect the amount of talent and hard work put into some anime but not all.

and, not to be rude or anything, but what does you not liking anime have to do with mecha refrences?

well, as for fictional mecha, there are two "religions":
one is japanese mecha. good designs in my opinion are the ikaruga designs (spaceships though... but the design philosophy rocks) or shirows distinct mecha style.

th eother is the battletech kind of stuff. there is more of that out there besides battletech but i don't know any names or things... so battletech would be the other part to research for.

other than that... prometheus posted some great ref photos of some caterpillar like thing some time ago.
talking about cat... brand names like caterpillar and others could be helpful to get some info on mechanic devices.

also, a google search for images of those car factories with robotic arms could bring some good results.

don't forget putting a hell of a lot of YOU in your mech stuff, not just reference :)
