View Full Version : Confused about posting methods :(

I've been reading in various places - and I'd like to try posting to things like DSG, Sketchbook, etc.

But one I read says to post using a paperclip icon directly from the harddrive, so the image is stored on the site here.

Another post said to use 'photobucket' (i'm trying to find that link again)

Another says to use my own website server?

Is there one current way of posting, that I can use for all forums I'd like to post in? (Sketchbook, DSG, COW, etc?)

- Also, is there a universal size of images that we should post (i.e. maximum ppi, etc)?

Sorry if this is redundant, thanks!

I try to use the attachments manager when able. The posts about using your own hosting are probably old or for forums that don't allow use of the attachments manager (like the DSG, at least last I checked).

Once they got the attachments manager here, there was a general push for using that, since that way broken links won't kill all the images over time. At least, that's the gist I get.

I see, I guess there isn't a universal way of doing it - as you said the attachment manager doesn't seem available on DSG. Just confusing since on one hand, they don't want disappearing images - but maybe storage for the site is an issue?
...Anyway, will try to just muck around with each forum and figure it out as I go. Thanks for responding. ^^
