After the global warming another ice age comes. An illustrated story of the alternative future...

Well, I`ve received some suggestions to move my original thread with my concept art here, in the Sketchbook sections. The old thread is here: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=86530, but you don`t need to follow the link, since I am going to repost some images here. The main reason for this show is to get some feedback and advice. And why? For long years I am working in car design field, what makes my "free" artistic skills slowly degenerating...

This project is non-profit and free-time. All images are freehand, 2d and speed paints.

As a side effect I`ve developed some unusual workarounds and custom brushes in AliasStudio, which is the tool not really used by concept artist. If you want to know more, just drop the line here.

I am sure you`ll spot how much I am inspired by the art of Levy and Sparth.
I`ve purchased David`s DVD and I have learned a lot from him. Anyway, I hope there is a little bit of myself in these images and it gets more and more obvious.

Great concept stuff and use of brushes. Definatly has a feel all of it's own.
The only thing that i would like to see is more "detail" in the environment to help tell the story more. Give a clearer view of the world around those people! Keep up the great work and posting!!

Imho you shouldn't use pure blacks and whites in color pieces like that and watch that sharpen filter. I like 1st and 5th post!

the thing that strikes me most is how you focus on scale in a lot of these (mainly cause of the little people). most architects i know do this :P could youu be an architect haha

hello mike, youve got some really cool stuff going down here. unique style.

My only feeling is about some of ure environments. The abstract feel to them is kind of cool. but theres also still a sense that you wanted it to look like something. I think you need more sense of space within them, so u can differentiate between the large objects/buildings and where they relate to each other. Using perspective. setting ure objects with perspective is the easiest to give them a sense of space/scale. You can keep all of the abstract shapes/styles just apply them to the objects once theyve been set up in space. Sometimes ure objects seem a bit out of perspective, because of the abstractness u give them. I always think put them in place/overall shapes before u make them look cool.

Just an idea to think about. I dont know ure approach to them, so i dont know wether u start a drawing then paint over (ie setting up ure grid and perspective first).

Woww... awesome work truly, i was soo driven into the atmosphere and the most thing that i likes rather that the gr8 concepy and colour philosophy, is that the mood is the same in all the paintings althought they are in different times... keep it up man!;)
