Ditto. That last thunderdome rocked and got me all excited to participate in the next 'un. Heck I'd even donate a something as the prize. Let's see, I've got an old 80's transformer named sky lynx (kinda cool), a spawn night riders guy w/ motorcycle, and, um, a boxed set of some wallace and gromit grand day out figures.
So, will that help get the contest started sooner? Eh?

they should make it a regular thing here, not as extreme as other art sites where they have one every week and your prize is a picture of a sack of shit or a rusty trophy; but something maybe monthly or every three months ya know? plus competition seems to make people really want to push themselves, therefore getting better everytime...yea that'd be cool it'd keep people on their toes.

I agree. Nothing like a little healthy compitition to help the digestion. Two men enter! One man leaves! Thuuuuunderdoooome! :bash:

Yeah, but I think the Terminator one kind of ruined it. It just hasn't been the same since. The original Eatpoo vs. Conceptart was the best. If something like that could be arranged again, with the same level of participation, it would be great. Coming up with something that will get everybody that interested is the problem, I guess.

I really wish I participated in the last one... it was just at the same time as finals... ugh. I hope there's another thunderdome again soon regardless of it's with another group or not. Viva thunderdome.

what's to stop someone with coming up with a contest on this forum?
Why are we waiting for someone else who is too busy working on money stuff to give us direction?
Why don't we have a quick vote and then challenge the poor sods at eatpoo?
:wtf:

I want one to, but if its organized by some of the guys from ca that want it, then it won't be an oficial conceptart thunderdome contest.
Sure, you/we can start one for kicks, or maybe have a subforum for the thunderdome. The other thing is that there wont be prizes, hence the lack of participation. So many of the pro's (imo) won't participate and it won't feel like a true thunderdome contest.
But all in all, I want a thunderdome contest too. ;)

I was wondering Jason if there was a way members of concept art can contribute to keeping the site running. I would. Plus it would help pay for prizes for thunderdome. What do you think?

I agree with cityworker.
Jason, why dont you set up a voluntary paypal account for those that want to give back to CA?
I'd give some money!

I really think that this is one of the best online communities for art that there is on the web. I can honestly say that I have learned a great deal from this site and rekindled my passion for the craft. There are many varying styles and skill levels that browse this forum and everyone is willing to offer assistance to those that ask. I am sure that there are more than a few people, like myself, cityworker and I.was.ink, that would be happy to kick a few shekels into a pot as gratitude to you Mr. Manley. Thank you for running the site and maintaining one of the best, and especially in this day and age, FREE online art communities.
