some may think its a bit too hokey or something, but this movie was a blast. i was never a Johnny Depp fan until this movie. it was just a fun adventure movie (like indiana jones over water).
these are pirates that say "arrrrrrrggggghhh matey" and have parrots and all that. if you take this movie seriously (and you're an idiot if you do) you wont enjoy it. i had a grin on my face the entire movie, just enjoying the craziness of it all.
btw, first person to say "the skeletons looked fake" is getting kicked in the nuts, i swear to god. name a movie where the skeletons looked real and moved, then you, too, will recieve a kick in the nuts.

I have to admit, despite my love of all things ninja, I am actually quite interested in seeing this movie. I hear it's more of a family thing too which isn't a bad thing. I can take my parents to it with being embaressed.
After the second Matrix and finding Nemo, I was worried that there wouldn't be any more good summer flicks. I have a hard time not finding the terminator movies repetitive...And the actors? well..There like robots.
Btw. Check out Sleepy Hollow for another good, sureal, Depp movie.

Pirates and ninjas are arch-rivals. If a group of pirates and a group of ninjas were to have at each other in a battle, it would be a draw. They both kick serious ass. No one would win. Like zombies fighting scarecrows.

There are three comedic staples that double as historical figures of brutality, consequently all three exist as either a source of immediate coolness and an instant laugh depending on thier use, they are:
1) Pirates
2) Ninja
3) Zombies
This movie, if the trailers are to be beleived has at least two of the three.
I'm game. Gonna catch it this weekend.

Depp plays a detective in that and does an incredible job. I think he's one of the better actors out there nowadays. Haven't seen him in anything I didn't like, really.

I saw this yesterday and I thought it's quite good. Definitely entertaining. I generally don't pay attention to how well people act, but Johnny Depp certainly stood out in a good way.
