Hey.
I just got here, looking to, of course, get better at art. Though...drawing in particular. I'd really like to hear what you think of these following pics, and offer any C&C you can. Please go easy on me though, and not tear this stuff apart. I'm a 15 year old who's only started drawing seriously like...less than a year ago. I'd say around September 2002. I feel I've made great progress given the short time (here's a pic about one year old; compare it with the one's below:

Anyway, so now the newer pics:

...So how are they?
I know I'm painfully amateuristic compared to the regulars here, but please give me a chance. I came here to get better. I'm willing to learn if you're willing to help. I think I'm dedicated, serious, and persistent, but still don't have professional level experience. I hope you will aid me as you can in my stay here.

:) Hi. Im start to drow with 15 years. Now I have 21. If you want to check my art go on my URL
If you like art and you want to sucsess in it, you must take a hard work. You have to go to some traditional art school, where you can practice drowing human forms, painting from life, quick scatch, to learn about art forms ( composition, proportion, perspective...) Well lot of this stuff you can learn alone wioth some books or by internet, but if you can do some school and talk fith people you like it too. Also go to museums and galleries, read comics, wach movies, and so.
If you like art, you dont have to wory about.

I think you have good sence. Your composition look nice. Its important to every picture have compact look, so think in simple forms, mases and colours first. Drow on big panels also, 100x70 cm and so. Use more mediums. Pencil, ink, tempera, oil, aclyl, try to sculpting also, photo something and so...

And prepare. You never be satisfied by your work more than 3 days!

Ok. I wish you luck!

Boy,

this is not meant to discourage you, but you are far away from abstracting yet. Don't fool yourself, you HAVE to learn the basics, before you go wild on a piece of art. Learn anatomy, study it, eat it , draw, every single day. If you get struck with faces, then do them over and over, 100, 200, 300 Faces a week. This is how I did it. But never forget your environments, observe, percieve what ever you can. Be empathetic towards the world around you and save it in your memories. Learn from life studies as well, but draw the hell. You are young enough to really achieve something, but youŽll have to do it the hard way. But the most important thing is, if you ever see yourself loosing the enjoyment from finishing a picture, if you ever feel satisfied with what you've done for more than a day, than think about what you are doing twice. Reflect yourself, because then maybe you're going into the wrong direction.

Good luck!
Marko

Thank you for replying, Danilo and Marko. I'm glad at least a COUPLE of people are willing to give advice to me. I'll try to take your words into account.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this though, Marko.

hey man,
great job for a 15 year old! you are doing great!

keep doing what you are doing, you are doing it how i did it, not knowing what orthigonals or chiaroscuro was. (i still had to look those up to make sure ;))

:o the other guys know what they are talking about. they were like you, and are now a twenty-thirdy-fourty years matured artist.

for me, the hardest thing is to learn to take criticism. but all i have for you is a complimentive opinion, you are doing fine.

He mean that you need to work on real life first, and later you can experiment and imaging. He is almoust right. I thinkk that you can do those things in same time.

killing.people: Wow, I never thought I'd get a compliment like that on THIS forum, with all the experience floating around here. Thanks a lot, I've really been lacking confidence lately.
Danilo: OK, thanks. I think I'll work on studying anatomy more next. Then hands.
Thanks for the replies, more than I thought I would get from here.
