Hello there,

I have a problem with my tiny wacom graphire in photoshop. My pen is half broken and I can only use the eraser side. It's not a problem for me in Painter. I just select an airbrush or something and the eraserside is used for painting. But with photoshop it doesn't work. Every time I want to paint it automatically uses the erase option. Even if I change the function in the wacom options. Not what I want. It also happens with adobe photoshop elements. Anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

It may once again be a driver issue, if you're having a problem in one program or not another.

I'll direct you to this thread again to see if it helps. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=91255

If services fail, once again, uninstall your driver and reinstall it.

Ahh yeah I misread "half broken" as it just wasn't as responsive in one program versues another not physically broken.

Yup. From Start > Control Panel > Wacom Tablet Preferences > Eraser TAB > Change the "Erase" dropdown to "Click". (if you don't have that, update your drivers.)

I'm starting to believe no one is reading the person's post.

Poster mentioned that they used Tablet preferences and it didn't work.

If the device is physically broken, then it is time to purchase a new stylus.

The eraser side is not broken. He needs to update his drivers to the latest version AND change his settings. If that still fails, he needs to Choose the Tool and ADD a specific Application in the settings and then remap the eraser tip. It works, I tried it. Perfect for starving artists.
Friends, yes?

Aaaamm what is a stylus? the pen?
To say the truth I think that Vide abandoned the forum :/ He didn't post anything yet... exept the thread.

And I am really sorry for the massive amount of english mistakes I've been making. :nohope:

Yeah, it would be helpful to know what make of graphire he was using and also what driver version too.

And yes, a stylus is the pen.

This is a really old thread, but I recently had the same problem. I'm trying to paint with my eraser tip in PS but it seems like it is hardcoded in PS to always erase.

Any other program works fine with my click settings for the eraser tip in wacom control panel but photoshop... I wonder if its possible to change it in PS.
