Hi folks,

I am very excited to make my first post as a brand new member of this great website ... The site hosts some remarkable artists and is a great inspiration source for any (starting) artist ...

Some quick words about myself ... I have been "creative" all my life but I only recently discovered the world of "digital painting" ... Whenever I find some spare time I try to be creative but due to my professional (non-art) life this is not always easy :p

Anyways ... I recently bougt myself "Painter" and a "Wacom" and here is my first "real" digital painting ... I like fantasy so I have chosen that theme ...

Please feel free to give me some tips & advice ... the world of digital painting is very exciting and I have only taken my first humble steps :p

Thanks,

Sedas

Interesting color scheme. If you sized it down to about 800 tall it would be easier to see the overall composition, but it looks like you put your creature dead center. If you make the composition asymmetrical, it will seem less static.

I agree with the arttorney, make the image smaller so the whole thing can be viewed at one time... the technique looks solid currently, just keep working at it and it will come with time. Overall it looks a little dark, maybe a little more contrast in the foreground?

Thanks for your comments folks ...

I agree that the figure is too symmetric ... I sketched/coloured that one first as an excercise ... once finished I thought to have a go at putting him into a scene to test the brushes in painter ... It would have been better to give him another posure which would more fit into the overal scene ...

As for the darker colours ... on my screen it looks fine ... hmmm maybe I have to check my screen settings ... :bashful:

Ciao,
