My situation is that I have a BA in Fine Art, but I want to get into illustration. Having a BA prevents me from getting any sort of grant, and makes it even more difficult to get scholarships. I am going to Art Center right now, but it's seriously costing me an arm and a leg for each term....and I'm learning to draw boxes right now. The pace of learning is somewhat slow, in terms of starting from the very basics, and stretching it out over four years. I would LOVE to continue here if I had the money, but it's just not very appealing to go into over 100+ for another Bachelor's Degree. I'm thinking of going to LAAFA for a year or so, and then trying for a MA in illustration, or some sort of digital media Masters where a strong illustration portfolio would be accepted.

Take a look at the Max the Mutt thread. The cost is $9500 per year Canadian (less in US dollars), the program is as good as anything I've seen in North America. Check the website (www.maxthemutt.com) and see what YOU think. You have a BA already- degrees won't give you a career. Skills and professionalism will get you there.
