I don't know how I feel about this pic, the hair looks shit to me and i keep seeing little niggly mistakes. Can't be bothered to go back and change anything now, I have been fixing mistakes for a few days now and I must say I am sick of it.
Anyway, here it is.

the hair looks absolutely great to me!
i like that picture, although i wouldn't call it finished. the right side (her right) of her face looks still a bit unfinished and she deserves more of a background (nothing to distract from her, but right now the background just doesn't seem to work for me).

but i really like what you have so so far.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The highlights in her hair are clean, and look nice. I would point out that the right side of her face (my right, her left) looks almost bruised and swollen rather than shadowed. It might be from the highlight streak running down across her temple to her cheek.

The detail in the ear is also off some - the center coloring, anyway.

It's a good paint, though. Her eyebrows are nice and the outline and higlights of her lips are excellent. Keep it up.

Haohmaru - Yeah, the furthest cheek looks unfinished to me to, but I got to a stage where I couldnt see any more tones in the photo....so I stopped adding. It still looks fairly flat or unfinished but I don't know how to go about adding more if I can't see it in the photo :( .

Leviathan - Oh, I thought that was the most realistic part of the picture.
I agree on the ear, it was rushed.


Anyway, if any of you guys could point me in the direction of some good painter tutorials, preferably for hair - but any other tuts would be much appreciated.

Heyo. Posting a link directly to an image is just as much remote linking as posting the image directly. So you may be in trouble any way you cut it! :) There's plenty of free/cheap web space out there...


I like the pic! My only crit is her neck and shoulder are a little vauge anatomy wise. It's cool if they're blurred, but the information should still be in there, you know?

Don't know who Kristin Kreuckkk is, but if she looks like your picture she's pretty damn cute.

Tedsuo - The neck and should looked exactly like this in the pic, so I couldn't really convey any anatomy because I wasn't sure what the hell she was doing myself, and I wanted to stick to the look of the photo. Maybe I should have drawn it up myself, i dunno.
