Hmm, even though the lifestyle she lived was... no the best, it's still pretty sad.

touche. I really disliked her as a person to be honest, and though I probably won't miss her I still feel bad. Really feel bad for her young daughter too. :(

It's quite funny to see when an appealing and beautiful person travels to the other side -- people react with sorrow and sadness. Yet, you hear about countless of deaths everyday.
With that being said, I too got a small "shock" and felt a tad sad when I heard the news. Her cuddly, winnie-the-puh personality will be missed.

Nah, I think this was more shocking to those of us who were teenagers during the 90's and had our Playboys.
Really sad, and who's next, Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak, Samantha Fox?:nohope:

when i heard about it i was in my animation production class and they played a news clip and I couldn't help but laugh... looks like i lost the dead pool. Any ways she did it to her self booze, drugs and what ever self abuse she did i'm surprised she made it that far.
as for the beautiful people comment I didn't think she was attractive. The Girls that are in the fashion program at my school when all bent out of shape over it, but based Anna Nichole's worth of a person for having the same birthday as her or shes a good person for having the right clothes and being a former guess model...... not some leech who robbed a family of their money and lives...she was her own farce and it was her time to go anyways.

It's on the front page of a danish tabloid style newspaper, and I thought to myself: Is this REALLY the most important peice of news in Denmark today???! Jeez.

I too am shocked but I think it is for the reason Fedezz said. Plus she was always all over TV so it felt like I knew her. strange? yes.
Wasn't Samantha Fox a British Music star/model? I had a poster of her as a teen. My mom made me take it down despite I said that I just liked her music, heh heh.;)

"Life is different today."
I hear every mother say.
"The pursuit of happiness just seems a bore!"
Well if you take more of those,
You will get an overdose

It just helped you on your way
Through your busy dying day.

well its the best way to leave a legacy anyway.. smart move on her part. all the 'greats' you know had it all, were up in your face and then 'tragically died oh so young'.. and now they and their story will always be remembered. so yeah that baby is a stake in the claim of fame to come.. sign me up, it's mine i say! - JAG

She must have had a tough life. I really think she was mentally challenged. Did you guys ever watch her reality show. If she wasn't mentally disabled, the drugs did it to her. I have a friend that became an addict and it is amazing to see her now, she used to be so smart and quick, and now she is seriously dim.
It is sad for Anna Nicole's son, because he seemed like a really bright young man, he followed suit and became a drug addict, then overdosed.
Now I feel bad for the baby. She will never know her mother and her brother. I am happy for her at the same time because I hope she gets a better life then she most likely would've had.

We should expect more men to come forward and claim the baby as theirs because I just heard that legally the infant can get about $2 billion :O when she turns 18!

I'm very curious as to why some of you seem somewhat touched / reactive to the news? Interesting...
I wouldn't say "touched", everyone saw it coming but I do think it's a bit of a shame when someone so young pops their clogs, especially if they left a kid behind.
I'm disappointed by the utterly predictable CA response of "OMG silly tart, deserved it, I'm happy!!1" though, smells like clueless teenagers..
She made some bad choices but that's still someones Mum/Sister/Friend/whatever.

I don't think there's any reason to be glad she's dead. She wasn't a bad person, and was trying to do what she could to make it in this world.
If it was the drugs that killed her, which I would assume would be the most probable reason, then that too is sad. People with drug addictions are sick, not weak. If you disagree then you haven't known people who have gone through it, and have never read enough about it. Society tries to demonize the drug addict by making them seem bad. Do some research and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Just because she was a ditz, doesn't mean she deserved to die. I especially feel bad for her daughter. Hopefully she'll end up in a good home and have a better life than her mother.
By the way, I thought she was ridiculous too, but I would still never be glad she was dead.

Well said jf, just because you're all sensible enough to dislike her lifestyle doesn't mean you need to demonize the woman.

For some people it's hard enough just taking care of themselves.
This is true. Luckily, she was born with a couple of moon hoppers on her chest and got an oil tycoon four times her age to do it for her.
She was interesting. But being dead doesn't make you a good person. Actually, I don't care, but do we really need to waste so much sympathy on her?
I'm gonna go draw some GUNS. YEAH.

I agree, it's hard for some people to take care of their own life, let alone give generously to others.
Maybe Nicole already had some demons by the time her playmate career was in full swing, - in comparison, getting hitched with an 89 year old billionaire was a mere triviality and (I confess to not knowing her personally) i think she did the right thing and just ignore the critics.
But the story goes - she ignored her new (ok old) husband for the lions share of their 18 month marriage, preferring to go shopping instead, (who can blame her, those Santa Monica boutiques are simply fantastique, who wants to be changing an octogenarians diapers anyway?)
In his will he only left her a few house and personal possessions amounting to approx. 8 million dollars worth.
So what did she do with all her new wealth of which she was unlikely to spend? Fought for the remainder of the 1.4 billion estate.
Let me add, you can maintain a very nice lifestyle on just the interest from $1M,
Why did she fight for all that moolah? Maybe she had a deserving charity in mind?
So after doing an admittedly light google search I found one charity that Nicole was a patron of....PETA. Not the most adjusted group of well-dooers, if Penn and Teller can be believed.
There's a million other more deserving stories than Nicoles, but the media is just dazzled by the zeppelin chests, clothes horse people, the obscene lifestyles, the ostentation and fake smiles to care about anything else. Diana was another case in point. She was self obsessed too, everyone listened to the post death hype, a story here and there about holding an aids victims hand but forgetting the endless glitterati functions she paraded at and the diamond studded dresses that were worn only once and the days spent at the gym.
Don't get sucked into it, save your tears for the real sad stories out there.
Anyway back to drawing...tum te tummm...:)

I like how before her death, she was marginal and ignored and when she does die BOOOOOOOO ONOES ANNA NICOLE SMITH IS DEAD!!!!
The only reason I was shocked it was because I wasn't expecting it so soon, but I don't care, she has not done anything useful for the world, besides probably jerking off a 90 year old billionaire.
